Suffolk Sports Hall Of Fame

                             Remember The Legends

Mission Statement

The Suffolk Sports Hall Of Fame (SSHOF) is a Not-For-Profit Organization established in 1990 to honor outstanding persons, living or deceased, who have gained prominence and have made substantial contributions on behalf of themselves and Suffolk County, in the fields of professional and amateur sports. Since that time individuals have been selected as inductees of the SSHOF each year! The home of the SSHOF is located in Patchogue in a building donated by Mr. John Kanas & North Fork Bank. It will also serve as a center that will educate today’s students & adults about cultural, historical and human contributions & achievements of the honorees in the world of athletics.

History

THE SSHOF is a not-for-profit 501C-3 corporation formed in 1990 by it’s founding fathers, led by Gaetano “Butch” Dellecave. From 1990, the year of our first Induction class, the SSHOF served as a “traveling musuem”, often providing speakers, by request at various functions and meetings in Suffolk County. In 1999, John Kanas. then the CEO of North Fork Bank, donated the former Union Savings Bank building in Patchogue to the SSHOF. Since then the organization has concentrated on raising funds in order to renovate our building into our present day Hall Of Fame!
