Suffolk Sports Hall of Famer and East Islip legend Boomer Esiason was inducted into the Bengals Ring of Honor on September 25.
The three-time Pro Bowl selection led the Bengals to an AFC Championship in 1988, the same year he led the NFL with a 97.4 passer rating.
He was named NFL MVP that season by the Associated Press and Pro Football Writers of America. Esiason, who has spent most of his career as a football analyst on television and radio, finished his Bengals career with 27,149 passing yards and 187 touchdowns in 10 seasons.
Boomer was an inaugural inductee of the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame in 1990.
