Suffolk Sports Hall of Famer and former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason has been named to the Bengals Ring of Honor. He will be recognized along with Chad Johnson during a ceremony on September 25 in Cincinnati.
The three-time Pro Bowl selection led the Bengals to an AFC Championship in 1988, the same year he led the NFL with a 97.4 passer rating. He was named NFL MVP that season by the Associated Press and Pro Football Writers of America. Esiason, who has spent the bulk of his career as a football analyst on television and radio, finished his Bengals career with 27,149 passing yards and 187 touchdowns in 10 seasons.
