Jerry Brown was a three-sport athlete – baseball, basketball and football – at Babylon High School in the 1940’s and he went on to become a superstar pitcher at St. John’s University.
His pitching helped earn the team a spot in the World Series of College Baseball in 1949.
He was awarded the John J. McGraw trophy in 1947 and 1949 as the most outstanding pitcher in the Metropolitan Conference.
