Castellano is in his 29^th season as the girls varsity basketball coach at Northport High School, where he also teaches math and social studies in addition to being a junior and senior class advisor.

The night that he was selected to the Suffolk County Sports Hall Of Fame (January 20, 2009), he also celebrated career victory No. 500.

Among many others, his teams have won 10 Suffolk County titles and five Long Island championships at the time of his induction.

He was also inducted into the New York State Basketball Hall of Fame in February of 2009.
