Sachem alum Karen Ferguson-Dayes is the current women’s soccer coach at the University of Louisville.

She is a former U.S. Women’s National Team player … as a player at UConn she was a three-time All-American and on the All-NCAA Tournament team in 1990. In 1992 she was a Soccer America MVP and NSCAA All-Northeast Regional selection in 1991, 1992 and 1993.

As a senior at UConn she was named Outstanding Senior Athlete.

Ferguson-Dayes and also coached the U.S. U21 and U15 teams and was an assistant at Boston University and UConn before taking the head job at Louisville .

In 2011 she was named Big East Coach of the Year. In 2003 she was inducted to the Sachem Athletic Hall of Fame
