Laura Gentile is a former three-sport athlete at Sachem High School, where she excelled in field hockey, basketball and softball. She was named Sachem’s top female scholar-athlete in 1990.

Gentile went on to play field hockey at Duke University, where she was an All-American in 1992, and graduated as Duke’s all-time leading scorer. She was awarded an NCAA and ACC Post Graduate scholarship, which enabled her to earn an MBA from Boston College.

Starting at ESPN in 2003, Gentile pushed for the company to put a greater focus on women as part of their audience. Laura lives with her family in Connecticut.
