Goldstein was the head football coach at Central Islip High School from 1959 thru 1974. The football field was named after him in 1998.
He guided his teams to six unbeatable seasons, won Rutgers Trophies in 1964 and ’67 and complied a 91-31-7 record.
His teams had 39 straight games without a loss over a five year period and in 1963 his team went 7-0 and allowed just six points all season.
He passed away in July of 2003.
