Gregg Giannotti Learns of Suffolk HOF Induction at The Paramount

WFAN producers only told Gregg Giannotti there would be a surprise for him during the Boomer and Gio LIVE show at The Paramount in Huntington.

Gio did not know Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame President Chris R. Vaccaro would appear on stage before 1,500 people to inform him that he was selected for induction into the Hall for the Class of 2024.

“Since they were doing a special live event in Suffolk, I figured it was a perfect time and location to surprise Gio with the fun news,” said Vaccaro. “Thankfully, Boomer and WFAN programming lead Spike Eskin agreed and helped make it happen. A special thanks to former Sachem and East Islip athletic director Pete Blieberg for connecting the dots.”

Gio, who grew up in Bellport and is being recognized for his contributions to sports through the media, will join his co-host in the Hall after he’s formally inducted on May 30, 2024. Boomer, of course, was an inaugural inductee of the Hall in 1990.
The ceremony will occur on May 30, 2024, at Flowerfield in St. James. The rest of the inductees from the Class of 2024 will be announced in the coming weeks.
