Kellner coached at Brentwood High School from 1965-78; his record was 210-56. During his time at Brentwood, he won many championships and coaching awards.

He is the founder of “Yes, I Can!” basketball and volleyball camps and created an inner-game training program called “Basketball Cybernetics”.

He is a motivational speaker and became the “poster boy” for Winthrop Hospital in Mineola in 1998 when he had a new open heart surgery procedure that was performed successfully.
