We celebrated Flag Day with a special presentation as U.S. Marine and Suffolk County Police Officer Matias Ferreira was inducted into the Suffolk County Sports Hall of Fame.

The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team was in town to play a group of Long Island all-stars, but, unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate. That didn’t stop us from honoring Matias on the field and presenting his Hall of Fame plaque, which Hall of Fame President Chris R. Vaccaro did with my son Hunter at Moriches Athletic Complex.
