The head baseball coach at Half Hollow Hills West, Tom Migliozzi, is the winningest active baseball coach in Suffolk County with nearly 450 victories in 28 years. Deer Park football and baseball product was all-long island in both sports as a senior in 86-87. Third in Hansen and 2nd in Yaz Awards. He ranks in the top 10 in Long Island in career baseball wins. Migliozzi’s teams have won 12 league titles and one New York State title. As a player at St. John’s University, he was Big East Player of the Year in 1991 and still ranks third all-time in Red Storm history with 23 victories on the mound. Coached football as assistant at Hills – teams won 3 suffolk, 2 LI titles, 2 Rutgers Trophies Drafted by the Texas Rangers in 1991, he spent some time in the minor leagues and five seasons in the South Atlantic League.
