Established in 1964, the North Lindenhurst Volunteer Fire Department’s Piston Knockers Drill Team has proudly represented the community for more than 60 years.

It made its competitive debut in June 1965 at the Village of Lindenhurst drill track, a tradition that continues today as the team opens each season on the same grounds.

Members devote countless hours to training while also serving the community through emergency fire and rescue response.

It’s won championships at the Town, County, and State levels, earning a reputation as one of Suffolk County’s premier drill teams.

It has seven New York State Drill Team Championships.  The first was in 1981, the most recent was in 2021.  It also won four of them in a row.
