Sayville High School, in partnership with the Suffolk County Sports Hall of Fame, successfully hosted its first-ever Sports Analytics and Business Conference, bringing together nearly 100 student-athletes and sports analytics students for a full day of immersive learning, discussion, and career exploration.
The conference featured a series of panel discussions and keynote-style sessions designed to introduce students to the rapidly evolving worlds of sports analytics, data, artificial intelligence, and the business side of athletics. Students engaged directly with industry professionals, asked insightful questions, and took part in meaningful conversations that connected classroom learning to real-world sports careers.
The event was organized by Sayville High School sports analytics and mathematics teacher Adam Sznitken and Chris R. Vaccaro, President of the Suffolk County Sports Hall of Fame.
“This was an incredibly impactful day for our students,” said Sznitken. “They were exposed to real career pathways in sports that many hadn’t previously considered. The level of engagement, the questions they asked, and the confidence they showed throughout the day demonstrated just how valuable experiential learning opportunities like this can be.”
Vaccaro emphasized the broader mission behind the partnership and the Hall of Fame’s expanding educational focus.
“The Suffolk County Sports Hall of Fame has become a beacon for educational advancement when it comes to local sports,” Vaccaro said. “By utilizing speakers who are also Hall of Fame inductees and respected leaders in their fields, we are directly connecting our mission of honoring the past while inspiring the future. We’ve continually grown our purpose, and we will double down on educational initiatives and awareness throughout 2026.”
