What an incredible evening celebrating Suffolk County’s rich sports history, community pride, and America’s 250th anniversary.
A heartfelt thank-you to Jamie LaBelle and James Bertsch for organizing a truly memorable event at the Sayville Library. The program brought together Hall of Fame inductees, local residents, and sports enthusiasts to celebrate the remarkable people and stories that define Suffolk County.
The evening became even more special with a visit to the LT Michael P. Murphy Navy SEAL Museum, a fitting reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and service that are also part of our region’s story.
The Suffolk County Sports Hall of Fame continues to grow far beyond an annual induction ceremony. Through our traveling exhibits, educational programming, and community partnerships, we’re helping preserve local history, inspire the next generation, and celebrate the people who have made Suffolk County one of the nation’s great sports communities.
As we commemorate America’s 250th anniversary, evenings like this demonstrate how sports, history, education, and patriotism come together to strengthen our communities. They remind us that our Hall of Fame is not only preserving the past, but also helping shape the future by connecting people with the stories, values, and hometown heroes that make us proud to call Suffolk County, Long Island, and America home.
Thank you to everyone who attended and continues to support this important mission!
