One of the pioneers in sports medicine in Suffolk County, especially in the modern era. Responsible for treating thousands of athletes over 30-plus years in the business.
Regularly associated with coaches associations, workshops, and training of athletic trainers across Long Island and actively involved in high school and college athletics in Suffolk County.
He grew up in Brooklyn, did his undergraduate at Stony Brook, and attended medical school at the Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn.
He worked with the famous Dr. DeRosa, one of the first arthroscopies, and the great Dr. Fallot introduced him to the world of high school sports in Suffolk County.
He covered football games and wrestling tournaments and opened up the Elite Sports facility in Ronkonkoma, treating sports injuries.
Worked with boces and produced the elite sports forum, which was on telecare.
Segreto was also inducted into the Dowling College Sports Hall of Fame and received a national championship ring in men’s lacrosse and men’s soccer for treating their athletes.
He credits his wife Nancy and his children as his major support system.
