The Special Recognition Award is given to an organization or individual group that has given back to its community through sports and athletics.
Its achievements have provided a source of pride to the residents of these communities as well as all of Suffolk County.
The Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame has been recognizing these achievements at its annual induction ceremony since 2004.

2015: Central Islip Fire Department’s Hoboes Drill Team
