A two-time MLB All-Star and one of the most accomplished pitchers to emerge from Long Island, Marcus Stroman is a proud graduate of Patchogue-Medford High School.

He was selected in the first round of the 2012 MLB Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays following a standout collegiate career at Duke University, where he finished as the program’s all-time strikeout leader with 290 while excelling as both a pitcher and infielder. He was also a Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star and was inducted into the League’s Hall of Fame in 2022.

He made his Major League debut with the Blue Jays in 2014 and went on to pitch for the Toronto Blue Jays, New York Mets, Chicago Cubs and New York Yankees. Over more than a decade in the major leagues, he compiled 90 career victories, more than 1,200 strikeouts and a 3.79 ERA.

Renowned for his mound athleticism, he earned the 2017 Gold Glove Award as baseball’s top defensive pitcher and was selected to the MLB All-Star Game in both 2019 and 2023.

On the international stage, he delivered one of the greatest performances in World Baseball Classic history. He was named the 2017 World Baseball Classic Most Valuable Player after leading Team USA to its first-ever tournament championship. Throughout his international career, he also earned All-World Baseball Classic Team honors while proudly representing both the United States and Puerto Rico.
