The Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame has launched its fourth exhibit, partnering with Section XI, the governing body of Suffolk County scholastic athletics.
The exhibit features plaques of athletic directors, officials and Section XI leaders.
“The more people who see the names and images of our inductees the better,” said Chris R. Vaccaro, Executive Director of the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame. “Section XI does so much for the players, coaches and programs in Suffolk County, so this was a perfect fit to honor former athletic officials from the county in one location.”
Section XI Executive Director Tom Combs and Assistant Director Pete Blieberg are both Suffolk Sports Hall of Famers and on the selection committee.
The Hall of Fame also has exhibits at Long Island MacArthur Airport, Fairfield Properties Ballpark, which is the home of the Long Island Ducks, and at Huntington Town Hall.
The new Section XI offices are located in Farmingville at Brookhaven Town Hall.
