The Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame led an educational experience at Hofstra University for students in the Miller Place sports history class as part of the ongoing partnership between the two organizations.

The connection? Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame President Chris Vaccaro is a professor at Hofstra, and three key speakers from Hofstra’s athletic department are inductees of the Hall: AD Rick Cole Jr., baseball coach Frank Catalanotto, and women’s lacrosse coach Shannon Smith.

After the athletic tour and Q&A session, Vaccaro led a tour of the academic side of campus, where students learned about 88.7-FM WRHU and the new state-of-the-art broadcast production facilities.

Students heard about dozens of career paths that could benefit them as they choose colleges and careers in the coming years.
