Chris Vaccaro, the president of the Suffolk County Sports Hall of Fame, kicked off the educational cooperative between the Hall of Fame and Miller Place High School.

He lectured to three sections of sports history students about the history and purpose of the Hall of Fame and touched on some of the biggest moments in Long Island sports history.

“It’s important that we build a bridge between generations through history,” Vaccaro said. “Between the people, places, and events on Long Island, we have a lot to be proud of, so the goal of this educational cooperative is to inform, educate, and inspire the next generation.”

The Hall of Fame will work with Miller Place and sports history teacher Bryan Vaccaro (CV’s brother) on future guest speakers and curriculum.
