Suffolk Sports Hall of Famer Wayne Shierant received an incredible distinction this fall when the football field at West Islip High Shcool was named in his honor.

Fans will now attend games at “Wayne Shierant Alumni Stadium” on Lions Path.

Shierant is a former football coach and athletic director in West Islip.
