Peter Yozzo made wrestling history at Sayville High School in 1983 when he captured the New York State championship, becoming the school’s first-ever state wrestling champion. He continued his remarkable career at Lehigh University, where he won the NCAA Division I National Championship and established himself as one of the program’s all-time greats.

A four-time Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) finalist and three-time EIWA champion, Yozzo compiled an extraordinary 82-5-2 record over his final three collegiate seasons. He defeated five eventual national champions during his career and earned the nickname “The Wizard of Yoz” for his exciting, aggressive takedown style. His accomplishments earned him All-America honors while helping solidify Lehigh’s reputation as one of the nation’s premier wrestling programs.

Following his competitive career, Yozzo built an outstanding reputation as an entrepreneur and technology innovator. As the founder and CEO of multiple successful companies, including Blaise Software, ThinkHR and TruHu, he pioneered advancements in human resources technology. He remains deeply connected to the sport through volunteer coaching, mentoring student-athletes and supporting Lehigh wrestling through NIL initiatives. His leadership, generosity and lifelong commitment to helping others succeed have made him a respected ambassador for wrestling both on and off the mat.
